Pro Sew Spring Session
South Side - Wednesday April 22 to June 24 from 9 .00- 4.00 pm (65 hr / 10 sessions)
Cost $480.00 + gst
In this 10 week course you’ll
learn how to draft, fit and sew a dress and jacket to your measurements. After
drafting and fitting the basic dress and jacket, you’ll design your own style
and make these garments with professional finishing techniques. No drafting
experience needed, just good basic sewing knowledge. We’ll make 2 of each (one
to learn, one to confirm!)
Jacket, any Jacket
South Side - Wednesday March 11, 18, April 1, 8 & 15 from 1.00 - 4.00 pm (15 hr / 5 sessions)

Sew a jacket that suits your life-stlye! Casual, lined or unlined, tailored, boiled wool, denim . . . What ever you chose, it will fit great. Pick your own pattern or one of Trudy's Jacket patterns (see pattern link on the left). Learn tailored details including welt pockets, set-in sleeves, collar construction and various finishing techniques.
Designer Jeans
South Side - Wednesday March 4, 11, 18 & Thursday March 19 from 9.00 - 12.00 pm (12 hr / 4 sessions)

Let's take a basic pant pattern that fits (see Pant Fitting class) and start designing. Design your jeans (or any style you prefer) by adjusting the leg width, waist, yoke and pockets. You'll end up with a well fitted pair of jeans / pants and the finishing skills to make them look professional!

This three hour class is a delight and an eye opener. Imagine being able to sew a zipper in a garment in 1 minute with only 1 pin! No, we're not kidding! Well .... the zipper might take 5 minutes, but after that you'll be able to do it in one. We'll sew regular, invisible & front fly zippers and a "non-wobbly" flat zipper in fleece and/or leather.

this class you will create your own “Sewing Bible” by sewing samples such as:
Different
seam finishing techniques, pant pockets , welt pockets, sleeve plackets, mitred
corners, bound buttonholes, different
bias finishing applications, spaghetti straps and more. Keep them in a book,
right next to your sewing machine!
Golf /Polo Shirt

one of Trudy’s Jean Jacket patterns (# 302, # 305,# 317) or use any commercial
pattern, Trudy will help you to check the pattern before you start cutting and
then to make it fit to your liking. With little tricks on how to top-stitch
straight and make it look professional, this jacket will be a delight to sew!

A Canmore Weekend Sewing Retreat with Trudy Jansen

Experience hands-on methods taught by an expert! Trudy will share her knowledge, talent and humour as you sew a casual jacket made out of a fabric of your choice. A lined body warmer (vest) to fit over the jacket will complete the outfit. Learn pattern alterations and fitting. Learn great design techniques. Use effective sewing tips and shortcuts. FUN and RELAXATION INCLUDED!!
Space is on a first come, first serve basis!
Trudy will conduct sewing workshops outside Edmonton Alberta, Canada, if you have the facilities and a group of 10 or more students, we will make arrangements to come provided scheduling permits. However, this should be arranged well in advance as she is running her sewing school from mid September to June. It is possible to plan time in between classes so do not hesitate to contact her and ask! Fees and cost will vary depending on time and course material, please contact Trudy for further information.
